Autarco hybrid inverters with a diesel generator

Autarco hybrid inverters can operate independently from the grid when connected to a diesel generator.
In the event of a grid failure, the inverter will continue to supply power via the backup port. This means that even in off-grid conditions, users can still enjoy power from their PV modules and batteries.

However, since solar power is not available at night and batteries eventually discharge, it is recommended to have a backup energy source for longer off-grid periods.
This can be achieved by integrating a diesel generator into the system.

Compatible models

All Autarco three-phase hybrid inverters (LH-MII, LQH, XLH, and OH) support operation with a diesel generator.

LH-MII - This model does not include a dedicated generator port. The generator must be connected to the grid port.
For more details, contact your account manager.

LQH, XLH and OH - These inverters feature a dedicated generator port, allowing power to flow from the generator through the inverter to the backup port.
For setup information, refer to the inverter manual.

Note: The generator power must not exceed the inverter’s maximum AC output when connected directly to the generator port.

Note: To enable automatic start-up, a communication cable is required between the inverter and the generator, and the generator must support remote start functionality.
