How to change settings of inverters behind the PELD

Helios has the feature that gives users more control over inverter settings even when the inverter is behind a PELD.

PELD requires firmware version higher than 6

To use this feature, your PELD must be running firmware version > 6.
If your firmware is smaller or equal 6, you will see a message prompting you to update it before proceeding.

Activate the transmission switch under PELD settings

When an inverter is behind a PELD, the PELD controls its settings by default.
To make changes:

  • Open Digital O&M in Helios

  • Go to PELD settings

  • Locate the transmission switch setting

  • Change option to ON to temporarily stop the PELD from controlling the inverter

⚠️ You will be clearly notified about the current status of the switch (ON or OF)

Once transmission switch Is ON, you can change inverter settings

With the transmission switch ON:

  • You now have full access to the inverter’s settings

  • You can proceed with the configuration or updates needed

💡 If settings fail to save, possible causes include a poor connection or the switch being OFF again, check both before retrying.

After changing settings, don't forget to turn the transmission switch OFF

Once you finish changing inverter settings:

  • Switch the transmission switch back to OFF

🚨 Important: Leaving it ON means the PELD will not resume control of the inverter, which can lead to unintended behavior.
You will see a prominent warning banner in Helios reminding you to toggle it OFF when done.
