Can't find/recognize the meter in the EMS Controller
When the EMS can't find the meter while searching it can be related to two things. This article will only focus on the data-read out
- Connectivity issues
- Data read-out is not recognised by the EMS Controller
For TCP connection see: Can't-find-device via TCP
For RS485 connection see: EMS - Can't find device via RS485
When you are sure the devices are connected correctly, the EMS controller does a check on the data read-out when searching for a device. When the data does not match the ranges and data type that we would expect, the device is rejected.
For meter this happens when for example one or more of the phases can't be read out properly. You can check this in Digital O&M.
example:

Make sure all phases are read correctly before trying to add the device to the EMS.
