No power error and how to solve this?
A No Power error in Helios can appear when an inverter communicates correctly but reports no change in power or energy values over an extended period. This guide explains when the issue is triggered, how it is resolved, and why it can appear during winter conditions.
Possible causes
Helios generates a No Power issue only if all three of the following conditions are met:
-
Recent communication is available. At least two messages must have been received from the inverter within the 72 hours before last midnight. If no messages are received, Helios generates a Communication Issue instead.
-
No variation in power or energy values. All reported power and total energy values are identical. Often this is all 0, but in some cases the last known value is repeated.
-
The condition persists for more than 24 hours. Helios only triggers the issue if identical values are reported over a full day, avoiding false positives from short outages or temporary shading.
Before you begin
Check that your inverter is online and sending data to Helios. If it is offline, the No Power issue will not be triggered, and a Communication Issue may appear instead.
Troubleshooting steps
In most cases, no manual action in Helios is required. The software automatically resolves the No Power issue as soon as any one of the triggering criteria is no longer true.
During winter, temporary conditions like snow covering the PV modules can cause a No Power issue even if the system is functioning correctly. Snow blocks sunlight, preventing the inverter from generating power, and Helios flags this because it expects generation based on time and location.
No Power errors during winter are often temporary. Once snow clears and solar production resumes, the issue is resolved automatically.
Verifying the solution
Monitor your system in Helios. The No Power issue should disappear automatically once power generation resumes or conditions causing constant values are corrected.
If the problem is not resolved
If the No Power error persists despite the inverter being online and unobstructed, check for possible inverter issues, wiring problems, or communication errors. Contact your Autarco dealer if necessary.
