Local WiFi network requirements

Proper connectivity is essential for Autarco monitoring devices to transmit data and ensure optimal performance of your solar system. This article outlines the key network requirements for our WIFI-STICK.

Frequency

The local network must operate on the 2.4 GHz band. 5 GHz networks are currently not supported.

Range

  • WiFi signal range depends on several factors such as the number of walls, the type of walls, and the number of other WiFi networks in the area.
  • A guideline for WiFi range is approximately 30 meters in open space.
  • Make sure that the local WiFi signal is visible on your mobile phone at the location of the inverter.
  • If the signal is too weak, you may need to install a WiFi range extender.
  • A signal quality of 30% or more is sufficient for a stable connection. If the signal quality is below 30%, install one or more Wi-Fi repeaters.

Channel

Make sure that your router WiFi channel is set to channel 1 to 11 (not 12 or 13).

Troubleshooting

The monitoring stick's indicator lights can provide useful insights for troubleshooting. For more information, check the relevant help center article.
